![]() ![]() While observing Earth with satellite imagery from afar may make the planet appear comprehensible, people can zoom into the landscapes to discover how immense the detailed globe actually is. ![]() View the icy areas of the North and South ends of the world and all of the spaces in between. People can experience a 360-degree view of the globe by holding down either the trackpad or left mouse button to maneuver the sphere in the direction they prefer. This is a personal machine so I am the administrator. You can view Earth against the immense backdrop of starry space. I also was unable to find that file path in the OS. When I tried to open that file with Text Edit I got an error message saying I do not have permission to open that file. The PDF told me to compare that file with the on in the OS. In that folder is a file "Configuration/Private/etc/_default" along with a PDF file explaining what that was. One other item that may or may not be relevant: After the migration, I had a folder on my desktop called "Relocated Items.nosync". I decided to try again using the "install for this user only" option, only to find that screen no longer appears! I had been using the default parameters for loading GE, including "install for all users". This says the files I had in those locations were carried over in the migration process. The plist, Myplaces, and Cache files do not get recreated on the reinstall. I have done this a few times, all with the same result. What I have done so far: I have deleted the Myplaces file, the Cache file, and the plist file, along with the application, and then reinstalled Google Earth from the web. ![]() I dont know if this information helps at all but my mac is: I am assuming this is not an issue the programs but an issue with my mac itself as the same error presents itself when download different applications. I found older versions of the origin app and these got to the exact same stage and crash when i am attempting to open them to install. I tried downloading the file via another browser so i switch from safari to chrome and had the extra same error. Once i try to open the app from the taskbar at the bottom it asks if i want to open it i say yes and then it instantly crashes.Īt first i thought this was error with the app so i trashed all the files and tried again as much to my surprise i had the same error. The initial download works fine, pull the download over into the applications folder like i am asked to and this bit also works fine. Urgent!! Whenever i try to install an application it doesn't work? I have previously tried to download Origin and other application from the internet to my macbook air. I sincerely hope it is in the location specified above. Your text will be all black.ĭefaults write CachePath "/Users/username/Library/Library/Caches/Google Earth"Īt this point, I should admit that I don't actually know where your "myplaces.kml" file actually is. Don't worry about the colour, the forums software adds that. I STRONGLY suggest using the "copy" feature to copy the above line instead of trying to re-type it. Quit it, if it is running.ģ) Enter the following command in Terminal:ĭefaults write KMLPath "/Users/username/Library/Application Support/Google Earth"Īnd press enter. Does "username 1" exist too? Hopefully it doesn't.Īssuming "username 1" doesn't exist, here is how to fix it.ġ) Make sure Google Earth Pro is not running. In the Finder, navigate to your "Users" folder. It's Google! So now it's our problem, isn't it?įirst of all, let's see if Google is simply confused or if it has actually done damage to your system. The fact that they dump this stuff on the internet and then forget about it doesn't matter. ![]() (For those that don't know, that's a really bad sign.)īut it is Google after all. There is only an Intel version and it is built with Qt. Clearly Google Earth Pro is not functioning correctly. ![]()
